Researching the topic is very important, because if the level of relevance between the backlink building content and the SEO landing page is not high, the ranking signal transmitted to the URL needing SEO will be wrong.
This leads to keywords that need to be ranked being “Restrained” because Google misunderstands the ranking signal.

Write content that is relevant to the topic

Although Google declared the removal of the PageRank algorithm in 2016, it still quietly utilizes the PageRank metric to rank a website. Case study from a brand new website reaching nearly 300k traffic
In recent years, while observing the SEO market, I’ve noticed that SEOers seem somewhat lost, not knowing what to do every time an algorithm update occurs. Unsure of how to optimize the technical aspects, uncertain about purchasing which type of links… generally, I find them quite indecisive.
Therefore, today I will share a casestudy for you all to easily learn from and follow.
Currently, if SEO only focuses on content + backlinks, there will be almost no chance to reach the top. Practically none!
Now, it’s crucial to heavily optimize the technical aspects of the website. This requires a deep understanding of the algorithm and how Google Bot operates.
After the technical side, you should pay attention to content factors. At this point, you need to carefully study documents related to EAT or EEAT. Structuring content by specific topics or topic groups is crucial. If you handle this aspect, you’ve essentially laid a very strong foundation for the website.
However, after going through numerous tests for a new website, if I only optimize technical aspects or content, the chance of success in campaigns aiming for millions of traffic is a flat zero.
From my perspective and after a long testing journey, the LINK factor remains the crucial element that helps the website grow and make a significant breakthrough.
In this casestudy, it’s a website tested over 11 months, under the following conditions:
- Brand new Domain: 0 years old
- Code: Developer with no SEO experience, working and fixing simultaneously: took around 6 months to perfect the framework as desired.
- Pagespeed: ~90 points
- Content: 200 articles (Supported by ChatGPT)
How did it all start?
Phase 1: Goal to surpass Google’s Sandbox algorithm: 6 months
Due to the brand new domain: 0 years old, during the initial 6 months, when starting to build links, I progressed very slowly to escape the Google Sandbox. So, there was hardly any growth in these almost 6 months.
In this phase, my focus was on constructing a social entity system and a social matrix (Campaigns 9 + 12). I prioritized building links in-depth (Tier 2 links) for the homepage, author, category, and subcategory. Furthermore, I enhanced deploying the social matrix strategy for all posts across the website.
Phase 2: Goal of growth within a specific key group: 3 months
For simplicity, I built links following the Silo model. For each content cluster/topic cluster, I simultaneously constructed links to ensure substantial growth within the key group.
In this phase, for each article, I built one link following the viral SEO and growth SEO strategies, spreading across all topic clusters.
Phase 3: Goal of breakthrough
After 9 months of careful nurturing and building gradual links, by this stage, the site had become very robust. Therefore, I decided to strengthen link building for key groups with high search volume (Filtered through Search Console).
At this stage, any page targeting high-traffic keys will be focused on. The number of links will range from 10 to 40 links per page.
The secret here lies not only in how I build links but also in the type of backlinks I choose for the project.
Currently, I absolutely refrain from using inexpensive Guest Post types because they are the primary reason why projects experience a significant drop in traffic with every Google algorithm update.
With years of experience in link building, for this casestudy, I exclusively utilized campaign 9 and campaign 12 to create backlinks for the project (Explore more). And of course, the revenue generated by the website during the SEO process helps me have a budget for reinvestment.
The results, as you can see in the graph, show consistent growth. From the beginning of 2023 until now, despite numerous updates, the site has continued to steadily progress, regardless of how Google updates its algorithms.
Why do some people succeed while others don’t, despite using the same type of link?

We will establish links on domains with natural traffic according to Ahrefs, with a minimum of 1000 and a minimum TF (Trust Flow) score of 10. As you know, to mitigate the risk of link deindexing in Google search results, choosing domains with natural traffic >1000 is crucial. For tier 2 links, we will opt for domains with a TF score > 5.
Why should you tier 2 link building?
Some benefits of tier 2 linking include:
- Assisting in preventing the loss of index for tier 1 backlinks in Google search results.
- Enhancing the strength and credibility of tier 1 links.
- Facilitating tier 1 backlinks to reach the top positions on Google (between page 1 to page 3), thereby strengthening ranking signals for your website.

Should tools like RankerX, GSA,... be used to build tier 2 backlinks pointing to tier 1?
No. Because nowadays Google’s algorithm is fully capable of detecting these SEO tactics. Therefore, all the tier 2 links we build are done manually and involve meticulous research, careful ranking signal calculations, as well as compliance with quality guidelines for backlinks.
Will Backlinkita write unique content for each link?
Yes. Once we finish researching the keyword set related to the main topic of our target keywords, we will proceed to create content for link building. For tier 1 backlinks, we ensure a uniqueness rate of over 90%, while for tier 2 backlinks, we guarantee a uniqueness rate of over 80%.
Note: For tier 2 backlinks, we will replicate an additional 2 articles from the original article (Meaning: One article will be posted on three different pages to establish tier 2 backlinks). Conversely, this practice enhances the credibility of the original article when shared across reputable domains (we’ve been doing this for over 10 years, and it has consistently yielded positive results).
The secret here is: We only publish duplicate posts once the original article has been indexed on Google.
How many backlinks will be placed in each article?
For tier 1 backlinks, we will place 3 links within each article. Among these, we will include only 1 – 2 direct links to your website (depending on the campaign), while the remaining links will connect to social channels or other tier 1 links according to our off-page SEO strategy. As for tier 2 backlinks, we will place 3 to 5 links within each article.

Does Backlinkita build links on domains that were used in previous orders?
For tier 1 backlinks, we aim to expand the number of backlinks across various domains to increase Ref Domains (as the quantity of Ref Domains is a crucial ranking factor). However, in some cases, we might reuse domains where previous backlinks were established. Rest assured, we only rebuild links on domains with Nofollow attributes, and the proportion of reused domains is under 10%.
Regarding tier 2 backlinks, we frequently reuse domains. Yet, we ensure that domains previously used for building links are reused after at least a month to maintain a more natural link-building pattern.
